With the Indiana General Assembly adjourned, we want to thank you for showing up! Keep reading to learn about INLDC's successes, what you helped us accomplish, and how we plan to keep working together with you all. 🫱🏻🫲🏽
You helped us defeat nearly 85% of harmful bills
Meeting so many engaged Hoosiers and community partners was by far the biggest highlight: because you showed up time and time again for the immigrant and Latino community, 85% of the anti-immigration bills introduced this session were defeated. For a detailed breakdown, you can view INLDC’s Legislative Tracker .

From spreading the word against these harmful bills, testifying against them or otherwise vocalizing opposition, defeating these bills wouldn’t have been possible without you. You showed us the power of community and for that we are grateful. Thank you! 🫶🏼
Highlights
Between January and May 2025, INLDC connected and engaged with hundreds of Hoosiers, using tools like Substack to keep the community informed. During this time, we published and distributed bi-weekly community alerts, legislative updates and call-to actions to our 1,445 Subscribers, and these posts were collectively viewed 20,000 times. Absolutely amazing! Super proud of all of the accomplishments that INLDC and el pueblo achieved during the Indiana General Assembly. It would be interesting if you could establish INLDC chapters on college campuses. Perhaps you are already on your way with this? If not, work to create a network of college students in several regions of the state. This way your reach and engagement builds outside of Indianapolis. I know without a doubt that college students and recent grads would sign up to be champions in their community. INLDC is the organization to lead us into the future. Your passion and drive are contagious and it's beautiful. And, you will gain more influence because of your desire to be part of the change. Absolutely amazing! If you want to discuss issues regarding mental health support for our people I am happy to sit with others in your network. Que estén bien.
Please let me know how I can help in a tangible way.
